Commemorative Envelope Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, 100th Anniversary

The large photograph recalls the Regiment’s early days. In it, Princess Patricia of Connaught, for whom the new unit was named in 1914, presents a Wreath of Laurel for display on the Regimental Colours. Below, photographs document a century of service of the PPCLI, while on the reverse, a painting illustrates the Regiment’s sacrifices at the Battle of Frezenberg during the First World War.
The cancel features the letters and coronet from Princess Patricia’s royal cypher. The letters “VP” – standing for the Princess’s first names, Victoria Patricia – are also visible on the stamp above the now-disbanded regimental band.
