Ottawa (ON) – Canada Post and Thinkwrap Commerce announced a new collaboration designed to simplify and accelerate incorporation of Canada Post’s shipping data into Oracle Commerce, an e-commerce solution powering many of the leading brands in North America.

By making it easier for retailers to incorporate Canada Post’s data with Oracle Commerce, the collaboration between Thinkwrap and Canada Post will help retailers strengthen their e-commerce customer experience by providing shoppers with the choice and convenience they not only prefer, but also expect. Customer-centric features include increased options for shipping times, delivery locations and easy returns, as well as improved tracking.

At the centre of the collaboration is a pre-built and reusable accelerator, a plug-in type software developed by Thinkwrap for Oracle Commerce. The accelerator makes real-time incorporation with Canada Post’s shipping data quick and easy, without the need for additional customization. A more simplified process will enable and encourage more Canadian retailers to incorporate shipping data into their online stores.

“This new collaboration will allow Canada’s biggest retailers to better meet their customers’ online shopping expectations by providing them with the kind of options they want. Improving the end-to-end online shopping experience is key to making e-commerce in Canada stronger, and more competitive,” says Rene Desmarais, Senior Vice-President, Parcels, Canada Post.

”Transparency of the shipping process is an important component of delivering on commerce anywhere. The collaboration between Thinkwrap and Canada Post will help Canadian retailers provide the experience their customers expect,” said John Andrews, Vice President, Product Development, Oracle.

A major benefit of the Thinkwrap accelerator is the reduced time, effort and cost it can take for retailers to incorporate Canada Post’s shipping data into their Oracle Commerce solutions.

"Make no mistake; Canada Post has hit the nail on the head with its new service mix for eCommerce customers.   Our eCommerce customers have confirmed this with their direct feedback”, says Steve Byrne, CEO of Thinkwrap.  “We are absolutely thrilled to have become part of the enablement process for these new services with the Canada Post Team."
